House of Rasook

Our Story

Rasook means relationships.

It is not a word we chose from a dictionary. It is the word that describes how we live.

The Meaning of Rasook

Rasook means building relationships, honouring them, and standing by them no matter what. The name was chosen by our founder — a man people trust, a man who keeps his word even when it costs him. We inherited more than a business from him. We inherited this.

Where We Come From

A father's hands. A son's question.

In 1987, our founder started making kurta pyjamas with nothing but his own two hands and his family's faith. The craft was honest and the word was kept — and the business grew until nearly a thousand retailers across India carried our garments, with pieces travelling as far as the UK, the US and Canada.

His son grew up inside that workshop — watching the craft, but also watching what the industry does to craftsmen. For decades, this family made beautiful garments that other brands put their names on. The people who wore them never knew whose hands had made them.

House of Rasook is the answer to a question asked since childhood: what if the family that makes the garment could finally sit across the table from the person who wears it? No middlemen. No racks of compromise. Just the maker, the wearer, and a garment created between them.

"Everyone in this industry sells the customer what they already have. Very few take the time to understand who the customer really is. Not just their body — their soul."

The Journey

Four decades in the making

1987

With no capital and no experience in readymade garments, Sardar Pritpal Singh begins manufacturing kurta pyjamas — doing most of the work with his own hands, while the family holds everything together.

1990s–2000s

The business scales to nearly 1,000 retailers across India, with garments reaching wardrobes in the UK, US and Canada.

2008

Manit Pal Singh — trained in textile design and management at Pearl Academy of Fashion — joins the family business.

2015 onwards

The house re-engineers itself around Quick Response Manufacturing — built for high-variation, low-volume craft. The foundation for true bespoke at scale.

Today

House of Rasook is born: the family's craft, finally face-to-face with the people who wear it. Two collections, one promise — your presence is the celebration.

The Keepers of the House

Two generations, one word

Pritpal Singh

Founder & Chairman

The man who built it all from nothing — and who gave the house its name and its compass. A man of relations, trusted by everyone who has ever shaken his hand.

Manit Pal Singh

Creative Director · "Dr. Sherwani"

Trained at Pearl Academy of Fashion, obsessed with one idea: that a garment should be designed for the soul wearing it. He will ask about your occasion before he ever shows you a fabric.

"When you wear our garment — at the wedding, the pooja, the sangeet — we want you to feel like a flower that gives fragrance not only to itself, but to everyone around it."
